The second studio album by Tame Impala, like the debut album, Innerspeaker, was written, recorded, performed and produced by Kevin Parker, with Jay Watson contributing on two tracks. Lonerism builds on the psychedelic sound of its predecessor — it features fewer guitars, but more synthesizers and samples. Many critics ranked it among the best albums of 2012; it reached #4 on the charts in Australia and #34 in the US.
