Pink Floyd’s fifth album reimagined what the modern rock album sounds like. The epic title track, a 23-minute-long opener with six suites, showed the band’s power as a group – while side two let each member shine individually. David Gilmore developed his songwriting chops on this one with the folky “Fat Old Sun” — his first time writing lyrics for the group.
