Celebrating the 50th anniversary of his solo debut, beloved titles from Japanese superstar guitarist Masayoshi Takanaka’s Kitty Years are newly remastered as part of this special release of Summer Kingdom. A key figure in the global resurgence of Japanese fusion, Takanaka continues to win new fans across Japan, Europe, and North America.

Originally released in 1980, this mini album captures “Funky Takanaka” at full throttle. Just as the title implies, it’s a joyous record where Takanaka’s fingers dance effortlessly across the fretboard. The release features all four original tracks, including the tenderly romantic “Plastic Tears” and the pulse-pounding disco classic “Finger Dancin’.”

Remastered from the original master tapes using high‑resolution audio and lacquer‑cut at Abbey Road Studios in London by acclaimed engineer Alex Wharton.
