Lizzo — Bitch
Indie Exclusive LP on Copper Black Ice Vinyl
Lizzo’s fifth studio album, Bitch, represents a reworking and renaming of the project she had previously announced as Love in Real Life. Lizzo has said the music is largely the same, but the new title better reflects where she is personally and creatively now — more confident, bold, and self-actualized.
The album’s central theme is reclaiming the word “bitch” as a statement of empowerment, confidence, and self-love. Lizzo has described the title as taking a term often used to diminish women and turning it into a declaration of strength.
Musically, Bitch continues Lizzo’s blend of pop, disco, rap, and funk influences. The lead single, “Don’t Make Me Love U,” is described as a disco-leaning pop track, while the title song, “BITCH,” references and reinterprets themes from the 1997 hit of the same name by Meredith Brooks.
