Mayer’s 2012 release, Born And Raised, is his fifth studio album. It marks yet another change in Mayer’s musical style, incorporating elements of folk and Americana, as well as influences from Bob Dylan, Neil Young, David Crosby, Stephen Stills and Graham Nash. The album features rock legends David Crosby and Graham Nash providing vocals on the title song. Other musicians joining Mayer include keyboardist/pianist Chuck Leavell, as well as previous collaborators Sean Hurley on bass and Aaron Sterling on drums. The album was listed at #17 on Rolling Stone’s list of the top 50 albums of 2012, saying “It’s a shot at redemption that’s as on target as anything he’s done.”
