The debut album by Dr. Dre was originally released on December 15, 1992, by Dre’s own record label, Death Row Records. It was Dre’s first solo album after he had departed from N.W.A. The Chronic features many appearances by Snoop Dogg, who used the album as a launchpad for his own solo career. The album peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200.
