Dre’s magnum opus and first solo album after he departed from N.W.A, The Chronic features several appearances by Snoop Dogg, who used the album as a launchpad for his own solo career. Considered one of the most storied albums in hip-hop, The Chronic had a splashy debut on the Billboard 200, entering the charts at #3. The album earned three Hot 100 top 40 hits, most notably “Nothin’ But A ‘G’ Thang,” which peaked at #2.
