Standard Black Vinyl or 50th Anniversary 2-LP Edition

Maggot Brain, Funkadelic’s 1971 third studio album, incorporates elements of psychedelic music, rock, gospel and soul, with significant variation between each track. This is the album where everything seems to come together — the songwriting is sharper and more focused, and epic instrumental compositions dominate.

50th anniversary edition pressed on 180-gram black vinyl includes a second LP with two versions of the title track. Side A features the live version from Meadowbrook from the same year that the studio album came out. Jump forward 46 years to the “Reworked by Detroiters” release and side B has the BMG Dub, showing the enduring quality of one of the great guitar records of all time. This issue is mastered from fresh transfers of the tape and packaged in a gatefold jacket.
