Nearly 40 years into their storied career, Atlanta’s Drivin’ N’ Cryin’ release their latest album, Crushing Flowers. It’s a raw, melodic chapter that trades Southern rock tropes for honest songwriting. Produced by Sadler Vaden, the record features guest spots from Peter Buck and the late Todd Snider.
The standout single, “Mirror Mirror,” is an unflinching look at memory and heredity, born from Kinney’s personal experiences with his mother’s Alzheimer’s. The track features the vulnerable, human-first storytelling that has made the band a staple of Southern rock since the mid-’80s.
