Alice Cooper lends his particular brand of funhouse creepiness to “Santa Claws Is Coming To Town.” Testament’s Chuck Billy growls a special poignancy to “Silent Night.” The team of Dio and Iommi transform an otherwise pleasantly pompous ditty into something majestic, brooding, and downright sinister with their rendition of “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen.” And, of course, “Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer” is always a lot of fun, even with the metal treatment here by Stephen Pearcy, Tracii Guns, Bob Kulick, Billy Sheehan & Greg Bissonette. A great option for metal fans who think Christmas carols need a little more cowbell and a little more grunt.
