Named after the giant sandworms in Frank Herbert’s novel Dune, Shai Hulud formed in Pompano Beach, FL, in 1995. In 2006, the band signed with Metal Blade Records and recorded their third full-length album. Released in 2008, the album peaked at number 35 on the Billboard Top Independent albums chart and 15 on the Top Heatseekers chart. Misanthropy Pure combines the band’s taste for hardcore, trash, punk and metal.
