Nile — Ithyphallic (2-LP)
Double Splatter Vinyl in Gatefold Jacket
Ithyphallic, Nile’s fifth studio album, was originally released on July 17, 2007 by Nuclear Blast, and has been reissued on deluxe splatter vinyl courtesy of Back On Black Records. Another death metal juggernaut, the sound is immaculate and the feel is of overwhelming heaviness thanks to Neil Kernon’s production wizardry. The album features the single, “Papyrus Containing The Spell To Preserve Its Possessor Against Attacks From He Who Is In The Water.” The cover art depicts a statue of the god of fertility, “Min,” being erected by Egyptian slaves. The title means “erected phallus” in ancient Greek.
