On Killing Machine, Judas Priest scales back the badass metal sound of Stained Class for more straightforward songwriting. The album was actually retitled Hell Bent For Leather for its U.S. release in early 1979 after the suits at Columbia/CBS objected to the “murderous implications” of the original title. This one includes a screaming cover of Fleetwood Mac’s “The Green Manalishi (With The Two Pronged Crown).”
