$O$ is the debut album by South African group Die Antwoord. Initially released on the internet, it was later sold as a CD when the band signed with Interscope Records. Die Antwoord (pronounced [di ‘antvuərt], Afrikaans for “The Answer”) is a South African hip-hop group formed in Cape Town in 2008. The group consists of rappers Watkin Tudor “Ninja” Jones and Anri “Yolandi Visser” du Toit, a male/female duo, and producers HITEK5000 and Lil2Hood. Their image revolves around the South African counterculture movement known as “zef.”
