Led Zeppelin — Houses of the Holy

$24.95

Remastered from the original tapes on 180-gram audiophile vinyl

Led Zeppelin’s Houses of the Holy on 180-gram vinyl sounds utterly amazing. Painstakingly remastered by Jimmy Page, Zep’s fifth studio album shows the continuing evolution of the band’s musical style — ranging from reggae-tinged (“D’yer Mak’er”) to funk jam (“The Crunge”) and all-out rocker (“The Ocean”). A powerful record and a masterful re-pressing.

When it came out in 1973, Led Zeppelin’s Houses of the Holy album was probably the most musically eclectic of their first five records. Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones had each built home studios, and were able to show up at the recording studio with fully formed and well-arranged songs. Three of them went on to become fixtures of Zep’s live shows: “The Song Remain the Same,” “The Rain Song” and “No Quarter.”

Houses of the Holy on 180-gram vinyl was pressed from the original master tapes and meticulously engineered by Jimmy Page for an incredible pressing that captures all the sophistication and nuance of this classic album. Grab a vintage Zeppelin Rock Tee and crank it up!

  3. Over The Hills And Far Away (4:50)
  4. The Crunge (3:17)

Side 2:

  4. The Ocean (4:31)

Led Zeppelin’s Houses of the Holy album was their first record to have an actual title (other than the band name and a number) and like Led Zeppelin IV, the album cover gave no clue what was inside. Atlantic Records added a wrap-around “belly band” to U.S. copies, which had to be either broken or slid off to open the gatefold sleeve. The packaging for this release of Houses of the Holy on 180-gram vinyl faithfully recreates the look and feel of that original album, including the signature belly band.

Led Zeppelin is Jimmy Page (lead guitar), John Paul Jones (bass guitar), John Bonham (percussion) and Robert Plant (lead vocals).
